Tips that save you a re-upload
- Export at 72 DPI sRGB JPEG or PNG. Instagram strips colour profiles, so embed sRGB before upload.
- Keep file size under 30 MB for photos and 650 MB for video reels.
- Vertical wins. Portrait 4:5 feed posts take 25% more screen than square. Reels at 9:16 take everything.
- For carousels with mixed orientation, the first slide's ratio defines the whole post - don't mix landscape and portrait.
